Dr. Alastair Darwood is an experienced medical device innovator focusing on early stage translation and prototyping. Alastair has successfully exited two startups in the orthopaedic and Anaesthetics sectors maintaining a close advisory role with their ongoing commercialisation and clinical trials.
Alastair is passionate about innovation and translational research in healthcare and is a strong advocate for developing the role of doctors in the innovation process. Alastair is a medical doctor and has completed his MRCS examination in addition to achieving a PhD in bioengineering from Imperial College, London.
Outside of healthcare, Alastair co-founded Skarper, a startup developing a novel e-bike drive system in collaboration with Sir Chris Hoy and Red Bull Advanced Technologies.
