JAMES DYSON DESIGN AWARD GOES TO UK MEDICAL DEVICE INNOVATOR

As reported on July 3 2021, Joseph Bentley was a final year student at Lougborough University studying Product Design and Technology.

He created REACT - a new medical device for rapidly stopping catastrophic blood loss from a knife wound that could be carried out by first responding police officers while waiting for an ambulance.

Today, he has been awarded the prestigious James Dyson Award. The award is an international design competition with the simple brief: design something that solves a problem.

Congratulations Joseph Bentley on your outstanding achievement and your innovation.

See the video opposite for more information on the design and application of REACT.
