Saheela Mohammed MEng(Hons), MIET, Senior Project Engineer at Abbott

Saheela Mohammed MEng(Hons), MIET is a Senior Project Engineer at Abbott. Having grown up in London, Saheela graduated from The University of Sheffield with an integrated Master's degree in Bioengineering in 2017. Saheela is fascinated by the future of healthcare and artificial intelligence. Saheela has worked at Abbott for around 4 years, having joined as a Graduate Engineer on a graduate scheme within Abbott's Diabetes Care business. The scheme allowed Saheela to rotate across various departments including Manufacturing, Technical Services, TPM Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Project Engineering and as a Team Lead in the Complaint Investigation Group.

Saheela is a co-author of a children's book and regularly leads STEM activities through her workplace and outside of work to inspire the next generation of scientists, technologists, engineers and mathematicians. She has been a registered STEM Ambassador since 2017 with over 100 hours of direct volunteering engagement in the 2020/2021 academic year alone. Saheela has also received external recognition as a 'Women of Sheffield in 2019', 'Chancellor's Medal Winner in 2017' and a 'Women of Color in STEM - Technology Rising Star' award in 2020.
